Learning Team Assignment

Introduction

The purpose of this assignment is to establish learning teams and to practice and test several approaches for holding virtual meetings of your learning team.

Proper functioning of your learning team will be very important in Module 3. In this module you will learn about genetic diseases through three problem-based learning activities. Each activity will be completed as a group exercise involving the learning teams established in this assignment.

You may also find the learning teams to be helpful for study purposes during the rest of the course.

Assignment (25 points)

1. Decide on a name for your team
2. Assign duties
   • Recorder - Take notes at meetings and share with other team members.
   • Reporter - Report the results of your meetings to the class.
3. Hold at least two virtual meetings of your learning team. Try to use a different technology for each meeting.
4. Post a short report about your meeting on the ClassNet discussion forum (Learning Teams Topic).
   • Name of your group.
   • Assigned duties.
   • How and when were your meetings held?
   • What technologies did you use for the meetings?
   • How did they work?
   • What suggestions do you have for other groups?
