Server

The center has a World Wide Web server for delivering text and images, and a RealAudio server for delivering audio files.

Authoring Stations

The center has four authoring stations. Each station consists of a computer (Power Macintosh or PC) plus software and equipment for authoring multimedia presentations. The primary use of the stations are for authoring biology instructional material to be distributed using the world wide web. Other uses are training biology faculty and production of world wide web training materials.

Recording Studios

The center has two sound-proof recording studios, one for creating RealAudio presentations, and the other for creating both RealAudio and RealVideo presentations. The RealAudio recording studio is equipped with two Power Macintosh computers, tape deck, soundboard, microphone, and backup device. The RealVideo recording studio is equipped with one Power Macintosh, tape deck, soundboard, microphone, backup device, VCR, and TV monitor.
