Betula alleghaniensis (Yellow birch): Flowers
		Flowers are produced in separate catkins on the same tree in spring, before or with the leaves. Male flowers occur in drooping catkins and female flowers in shorter, erect to nearly erect catkins. The photograph shows Betula nigra male and female flowers.
