Lonicera sp. (Honeysuckle) Caprifoliaceae (Honeysuckle family)

A Tatarian honeysuckle shrub (Lonicera tatarica) is growing near Morrill Road on the south-east side of Morrill Hall.

Honeysuckles are woody, twining vines or tall, erect shrubs. The flowers are produced in spring and are usually white, pink or pale yellow. Small, paired, red or orange berries mature in autumn and often remain on the plant into winter. Honeysuckles make attractive hedges and the berries attract birds.
